In Herald Scotland Finnish writer Sofi Oksanen talks about the impact of the Drakulic’s novel As If I am Not There on her writing.
“Suddenly, for me, a woman’s body became a metaphor for an occupied country and the use of sexual violence, be it in Europe, Africa or the Middle East today,” she said.
