Corriere della sera has just published a commentary on Belgrade school shooting.
Last week an unfortunate event happened in Belgrade, Serbia – a boy of 13 came to his classroom with a gun, killed a janitor and 8 of his classmates, while 6 pupils and a teacher were wounded.
Although specific circumstances of the event still have to be determined, there are some issues that need to be considered. A lot of people in Serbia own guns, a lot of children are under the influence of virtual reality and have trouble distinguishing between what is moral or not in real life, a school system is outdated and there is a lack of emapthy all around us…
All of this has a strong impact on the society as a whole – and on our children in particular.
