World Literature Festival in Zagreb – a discussion with András Forgách

On September 6th, World Literature Festival presented the Hungarian writer András Forgách together with Slavenka Drakulić. Forgách talked about his latest novel No live files remain about his mother being a spy during the Cold War, published in Croatia as Tajni život moje majke (Fraktura). Drakulić presented her stories about women’s aging Nevidljiva žena (An invisible woman), but the talk also included a lot of other interesting questions: is there a common Europe today and what might its’ future be? Is there real fear from immigrants or is it artificially produced? When will Croatia be ready for such a novel about spies in our own families?
